  • Bar Standard

    1037 Broadway Central Denver

    720-416-6209

Once the home of Serengeti and Shelter, Bar Standard is an Art Deco-themed, modern-day speakeasy. While the name and look may have changed, the club, housed in the former Jonas Bros. Furs building, still brings in some of the area's best DJs -- who spin house and dance music -- as well as more high-profile national DJs. In addition, Bar Standard occasionally brings in live acts like the Cool Kids to perform on a decent-sized stage. The main area of the upscale club fills up quickly on the weekends, but there are two patios, both of which offer decent views of Denver's skyline, to escape the masses.

  • Beta

    1909 Blake St. Downtown Denver

    303-383-1909

It's not the state-of-the-art sound system, the primo location in LoDo or the crowds of beautiful people that make Beta Denver's best dance club (though none of that hurts). No, it's the high-caliber talent the place brings in week after week. Beta has hosted a cavalcade of talent that reads like a who's who of the world's top dance-music acts.

  • The Church Nightclub

    1160 Lincoln St. Central Denver

    303-619-9513

Stained-glass windows, high-beamed gothic architecture and hundreds of candles spread throughout the Church suggest a pious vibe in the former house of worship, but the congregation is as mixed as they come. Built in 1865, the roomy, multi-level Lincoln Street mainstay draws globally based DJs, local residents, retro lovers, even the under-21 set: Sections of the bar are open to those 18 and up. A rooftop patio affords one of the city's best views.

  • Babe's Nightclub

    2265 W. 84th Ave. Northwest Denver Suburbs

    303-426-7727

A Colorado club mainstay, Babe's Nightclub (previously House of Babes) has been bringing the white- and blue-collar crowds together at its bar top for over two decades. The family-owned spot for day drinkers and game watchers turns into a full-fledged nightclub on the weekends, playing reggaeton, rap and Top 40 to a packed dance floor. The bar offers a standard decor of mirrors and promotional liquor signage, a smoker-friendly patio and plenty of room to dance or play pool. House of Babes remains a metro-area favorite, a no-cover outpost for drinking and dancing born long before LoDo was christened the glittery epicenter of local nightlife.

  • The Banshee House

2715 Larimer St., Denver Five Points/RiNo

    THE NAME.
Our name is an ode to the previous tenant — The Banshee Press. We loved the name, we loved the formidable golden eyes, and we loved the allure that the Banshee legend brings to the block.

    THE HOUSE.
Our historic house dates back to 1885, before Larimer was bustling in different ways and the neighborhood was dubbed RiNo. Said to once have been a “chicken house” where folks could buy eggs and live chickens out the front window, more recently, it functioned as a printing press. These good bones have seen it all.

    THE PLAYERS.
Buddies with a shared vision, Casey Berry and Kade Gianinetti set out to build the next iteration of Banshee. Kade, the man behind the Way Back, Method Coffee Roasters, American Grind, and several other of Denver’s hippest joints, brings F&B chops to the project. Casey, the founder of Two Parts, a creative and experiential agency, brings along the best-in-class agency team to lead Banshee’s creative arm.

    THE VISION.
The Banshee House is a space for collaborations, clashes of creativity, private shindigs, branded takeovers, and a testing ground for anything in between. Banshee welcomes all and seeks to provide a space thats more accessible than most other event venues. The brains behind the building yearn for cool shit, so join them in the chase.

  • The Black Box (The Lounge Side)

    314 E. 13th Ave., Denver Capitol Hill/Uptown/City Park

    303-831-6207

  • Blue Ice

    22 Broadway Central Denver

    303-777-3433

While it might have started off trying to be a non-LoDo-like bar, Blue Ice is probably the closest thing to a LoDo-vibed dance club in the Baker District -- only with cheaper drinks. In fact, the martini bar has pretty much cornered the South Broadway dance-club market. The crowds vary with the club's themed nights, which focus on salsa, Latin, hip-hop, reggae and goth. With its sleek leather couches, Blue Ice offers a relaxed spot for cocktail-sipping in the early evening, but the place fills up fast on the weekends.

  • Charlie's Denver

900 E. Colfax Ave. Central Denver

    303-839-8890

Sometimes Colfax Avenue is so idiosyncratic that it risks becoming a caricature of itself. For evidence, look no further than Charlie’s, Colfax’s big, gay cowboy bar. Gaze upon the cowboy-boot disco ball that spins and glistens from the ceiling. Don’t miss the translucent machine that blows money (or whatever else) around as dancers — also spinning and glistening — put on a show within. And look to the stage and dance floor for drag queens, bikers and bears, oh, my. Charlie’s truly shines in its inclusiveness.

  • Chloe Discoteque and Mezze Lounge

    1445 Market St. Downtown Denver

    720-383-8447

Named after a fictitious, jet-setting socialite whose favorite food, favorite design trends, favorite art and favorite music the club embodies, Chloe is a 6,600-square-foot space that's divided into Chloe's Mezze Lounge, Garden and Discotheque. The super-deluxe venue, which is part of Francois Safieddine's Lotus Concepts group of nightclubs, features exotic snakeskin wallpaper, an under-lit onyx bar, a twenty-food LED screen for custom visuals, plush couch-style seating, fireplaces and a whole lot more. There's an outside patio and courtyard component that is the first of its kind, with a high-top fire pit communal table, cabana-style U-shaped couch seating and a fountain. The Mezze cuisine concept executed by Chef Jose Guerrero includes Greek, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine.

  • City Hall

    1144 Broadway Central Denver

    303-832-8628

City Hall is part of the SoCo (South of Colfax) nightlife district, which also controls Funky Buddha, Milk and Vinyl, among others. City Hall, though, operates as more of an events venue and less of a nightclub. Although the large, outdoor space hosts an occasional rave, it is far more likely to be the location for a special, eclectic event, anything from a politician's election party to a film screening where patrons can view their favorite movie under the stars.

One of the main gay bars in Colorado Springs, Club Q has been going strong since 2003 with weekly dance nights, drag shows and karaoke nights. Hidden behind a strip mall in the northeastern part of the city, the place may be a little hard to find at first, but your search will be rewarded: Club Q, which is also straight-friendly, is relatively laid-back and drama-free.
  • Club Vinyl

    1082 Broadway Central Denver

    303-506-8078

Vinyl is a four-story behemoth of a dance club featuring different music on every floor (including house, EDM, Top 40/pop and live music). The venue's rooftop patio offers great views of Denver's skyline, along with year-round fire pits, hookahs and a seasonal grill. Elsewhere, the uber-swanky lounge welcomes those who just want to chill, and the main floor has a state-of-the-art Funktion-One sound system and LED light show, with internationally known acts in the house every Saturday.

  • Cowboys

25 N. Tejon St., Colorado Springs Southern Colorado

    719-596-1212

For nearly three decades, Cowboys has been one of the main spots for country music in Colorado Springs. And while that's a huge draw - after all, there's plenty of room to line-dance on the main level's massive dance floor - there are also pool tables and bars on the second floor, and a bowling alley, a small dance floor, a karaoke setup and smoking patios on the third. Line-dance lessons are included in the cover charge on Sundays, and you'll find appetizers, burgers and sandwiches on the menu.

  • DV8 Distillery

    2480 49th St., #e Boulder

    720-687-7751

    MEET THE OWNERS

    Samuel Gunnels aka Rawley
Rawley Gunnels has been the event planner, community creator and distiller for DV8 Distillery since he co-founded the company in 2015. His intuition and wide open heart hold the community with tenderness and care. Anyone who knows DV8 knows Rawley, and anyone who knows Rawley is better for it. When he's not working his booty off throwing freaky events, or making spirits, Rawley is either pursuing his music project The Echo 88 or researching the newest technology in male G strings. Come to one of our events (post Covid) and see what his research has yielded. He likes hugs that go on for too long, being a public spectacle and being spanked so hard most people give up.

    Johnathan Tilley aka JT
JT has been the operations manager, distiller, and R&D expert for DV8 Distillery since he co-founded the company in 2015. His compassion and stalwart heart is the steady hand that guides this queer, kinky, island of misfits through the troubled waters of life. When he isn't giving sound advice to community members, going out with his partners (he's poly), or planning the next phase of DV8's future, he can be found getting rolled by his opposition in League of Legends(Ranked GoldIV Add him: ElMoosiePoo). He likes movies that make him cry, all-you-can-eat sushi, and meta scheming the creation of a society that makes more sense for real humans. Meta scheming in general really... Pitch him your weirdest and he'll dig right in.

  • Kulture Music Hall

1600 N. Federal Blvd. Central Denver

    720-394-7470

Rethink what dance music culture should be.

We began with a simple goal. To revitalize the Denver music scene.

We may have moved past map points and shows at Bishop’s Castle (Fs in the chat), but our independent spirit still remains. We invite you to experience our new venue, welcome home friends.

Return to the roots of what makes our scene amazing… Mind blowing production, and a strong community.

    Music is about connection.

We’ve built a venue for the true fans. The venue we’d want to call home. A venue where you can be your true self.

    What does it all mean?

An uncompromising focus on what’s important. Curating an environment of safety and respect. Fostering a culture of honesty and empathy in our staff. Finally, producing the best show possible for our guests.

We believe in safety, security, and harm reduction . Our staff is trained in Trauma Informed Care; we will always have a social worker on staff. Had too much, feeling uneasy, or just having a bad time? Specialized members of our staff are trained to help. The health and wellbeing of our guests is our number one priority.

We want you to be you. That means we encourage every performing artist to play their true music. No “club” sets, no pandering to the “bass capital”. True freedom of expression is the only way to move our culture forward. That goes for our guests and our visiting artists. Wear what you want, play what you want.

A crowd moving in sync. With the singular goal of forgetting the outside world, and finding a new home together in that moment. Our staff, every member here to help, every member committed to making sure that our guests have a safe, secure, and welcoming experience.

Empathy drives every choice we make. We believe women. It means we do not tolerate intolerance. It means every genre and its fans deserve to be here. It means respecting the music, and providing the best possible sound and visual experience.

Talk is cheap, how will we do it?

Your experience begins with our experience. We hire the best and the brightest. People that have a passion for our culture, and a drive to be the best.

We don’t stop there. We have developed a brand new training program for every guest-facing employee. This program was created in house by our team of brilliant social workers, addiction counselors, and therapists. This program is designed to ensure that all members of our staff, not just security, approach every guest encounter through a trauma informed lens. Similar to the new STAR program in Denver, we believe that the first response to a non-violent situation shouldn’t be police (in our case, security). Our pledge to our guests is that your safety is our first concern.

    What about the music??

You didn’t think we forgot, did you? We have enlisted the help of the great minds over at Bass Boss to design a sound system that will rock the house, without rocking our neighbors. Custom built from top to bottom using advanced 3D modeling and audio engineering software, our sound experience will be unparalleled.
